The Travel Dream.

How many of you have that travel bug inside you!? I am sure quite a few especially after Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani gave the push to people :p well I have had the bug inside me for quite a few years now. Some people like to go on holiday trips, some on vacations and some just want to wander from here and there trying to explore the world. Well of course most of us cannot live those dreams cause of family responsibilities, work commitments and majorly cause just like me you just have your pockets filled with dreams and no money :p well what do you do in such situations?!
People who want to just travel will do what they love and not think about much other things. For them just enough money for getting them from one place to another is more than sufficient. They don't need to save for the future nor do they need to worry about it. People often categorise them as 'Gypsies' or  'Hippie' which are both wrong terms to use as they are more of a tribe and culture and not adjectives :p
I personally have traveled to quite a few places and explored a few destinations but all holiday trips none the less FUN! I believe key to a good travel no matter what type of travel,is good company! When you have a real good company it's suddenly not about the destination that you are going to see but the journey of how you reach there! The journey will leave you with a lot of amazing memories, and sometimes some people who might change your life forever! I have always had the pleasure of having the best company that I could possibly ask for while on such trips!

And it was during these trips that I fell in love with the process of travel and exploring new things!

Amongst the places I have visited I personally din't expect myself to fall so much in love with Orrissa and Kerala! Both having a huge and beautiful culture to explore! I came across quite a few "hippie" types of ppl :p on my frequent trips to Goa(we all have those don't we? :p) and the Land of the Gods..Himachal Pradesh! And I told myself that "one day I am gonna live this dream! And not just visit places but to live there and explore them and move onto some other place!"
But again that brings me back to where I started about having no money :p
I recently got in touch with a famous travel blogger Siddhartha Joshi..check out his site http://www.sid-thewanderer.com..I exchanged a few emails asking for guidance as to where and how to start..him being very gentle and quite actively replied to help me out and all he could say was..In the initial phase you have to work some job and save money to kick start your dream and then maybe choose the obvious ways to make money by travel writing  or selling travel photographs..but most important thing which he had to say was to just get out and explore and share your stories! The money will follow later on!
People do all kinds of stuff to sustain their travel plans! Savings, backpacking, blogging, talent shows, join some organisation that deals in the travel field. Also there are options available to teach English courses in different countries, organic farming volunteer work etc.
Me being an immense lover of music have come across certain musicians majorly guitarists who perform on the streets,it's called Busking..and they collect whatever money they get to travel.
Check out Marcello Calabrese busking some famous covers. And also have a look at traveler/songwriter/musician Owen Campbell in his audition for Australia's got talent.

This is the kind of passion that's needed to fulfil your travel dream! Money is just secondary!

Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller. Cheers! ;)

  1. Yep that's true! Money shouldn't be the first priority to travel but I doubt that busking in India would help you out.. Hehe.. Beautifully written! Thanks :)
